One thing that I noticed when I arrived home from a weekend getaway was the ongoing installation of window shutters. I said to myself, finally mom and dad heeded our advice to install shutters especially now that our place is constant peril due to storms, hurricane or heavy rains. 

I asked my mom, who is in charge of the renovation, about the quality window shutter since my friend is asking me of the store. I called him up and referred him to my mother’s friend so that he could be given a discount. He told me a week after that they too are considering to install it in their home. My son told me that it is very effective in protecting windows so that it will be sparred during strong winds, extreme heat and the like.

Indeed, it helps especially during the early morning storm because it provides protection for the windows not to be broken or damaged. Now we could sleep soundly amidst to the rumbling and growling sounds of the thunderstorms. We all feel safe as our windows are protective from shuttering and breaking.

I never imagined that I would resort to selling old jewelry just to make ends meet. I thought that my life is going so well. My husband has a stable job and I was the one managing our family business. Everything was going smoothly until we encountered problems with our business. Sometimes I blame myself for making the wrong decisions and I know that it was my responsibility to make sure that the business that we started will grow.

It first started with a few small things, then bigger things happened and before we knew it, the business had to be closed down. We were both depressed and the kids are feeling it as well. That is when I started selling jewelry to keep the help pay the bills and support the family. I know that I cannot be depressed forever and I need to do something for my family. Luckily, I was able to find a job very quickly and we were able to recover from our financial problems in no time. My priorities became clear and it helped me realize my dream of giving my kids a comfortable and better life.
